Committees

There are currently 8 standing committees that serve in an advisory capacity to the RCABC Board of Directors. Committee chairs and members are appointed by the RCABC Board of Directors in January each year. Ad hoc committees may be established by Board resolution as required.

Education & Training Committee

  • Facilitates direct contact between the RCABC Roofing Institute and the roofing industry, including advising on required training in the roofing industry, evaluating the content of all courses offered through the Roofing Institute, and monitoring the apprenticeship program.

Entertainment Committee

  • Recommends and coordinates social events, including the Lower Mainland Golf Tournament, the Regional Golf Tournament and the Roofers Reindeer Rampage on behalf of all members.

Ethics Committee

  • Investigates claims and/or grievances against members or inspectors and recommends appropriate action to the RCABC in cases of unethical conduct.

Membership Committee

  • Receives and evaluates applications for Active and Associate membership and makes recommendations to the RCABC Board of Directors.
  • Monitors probationary status of members.
  • Monitors changes in status of ownership of member companies.

Nominating Committee

  • Considers and recommends to the RCABC Board of Directors, a slate of candidates for Active and Associate Director positions.

RGC Inspection Committee

  • Receives and evaluates applications for Accepted Inspection Firms and Accepted Inspection Firm Employees.
  • Monitors the probationary status of Accepted Inspection Firms and Employees

Risk Management Committee

  • Develops and recommends effective practices and procedures for RCABC members to identify, control, transfer and manage risk during the application of various roofing systems.
  • Provides information and advice to members regarding occupational safety and health issues.

Technical Committee

  • Reviews and recommends proposed changes to roofing practices in BC.
  • Reviews applications for approved material acceptance for the RGC Guarantee Program.
  • Liaises with affiliated technical committees.
  • Supports with Ethics Committee with technical expertise in cases of disputes under the Guarantee Program.
